Princeton, Western Washington, and Trinity Remain No. 1 in Women’s Rowing Collegiate Coaches’ Polls

INDIANAPOLIS – Princeton University claimed the top spot in this week’s USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll, while Western Washington University and Trinity College topped the Division II and III polls, respectively.

In Division I, Princeton earned 18 of 24 first-place votes to take remain in the top position in the rankings. California, the defending NCAA champions, earned five first-place votes to garner the second spot in the poll. Virginia ranked third, followed by Yale and Brown. No. 8 Southern California earned the remaining first-place vote.

Western Washington earned all five first-place votes to remain atop the Division II poll. Barry University ranked second, while Nova Southeastern ranked third.

Trinity College received all eight first-place votes to remain in the No. 1 position in the Division III poll. Williams College ranked second, while Ithaca College ranked third. Smith College and Colby College tied for the No. 4 ranking this week.

Princeton Tops Men’s Rowing Poll; Wisconsin Top Choice in Women’s Lightweight Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton earned the No. 1 ranking in the first USRowing Men’s Varsity Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll of the year, while Wisconsin took the top spot in this season’s first USRowing Women’s Lightweight Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll.

Princeton garnered eight of 14 first-place votes to earn the top spot in the men’s rankings. The University of California at Berkeley ranked second, earning three first-place votes. Harvard, Stanford, and Washington rounded out the top five. Harvard earned two first-place votes, while Stanford received one first-place vote.

Wisconsin received five of six first-place votes to take the top spot in the lightweight women’s poll. Racliffe, which received the other first-place vote, ranked second, followed by Princeton, Georgetown, and Stanford.
