Brown, Western Washington and Williams College Top Women’s Rowing Polls

Brown University claimed the top spot in this week’s USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll, while Western Washington University and Williams College topped the Division II and Division III polls, respectively.

In Division I, Brown edged the University of Southern California for the top spot in the rankings for the second week in a row. Brown earned 13 of 24 first-place votes, while USC garnered 10 first-place votes. Ohio State ranked third, followed by Yale and California. Yale earned one first-place vote.

Western Washington was once again a unanimous choice for the top spot in the Division II poll, earning all five first-place votes. Dowling College ranked second, while the University of California at San Diego ranked third.

Williams College received seven of eight first-place votes to take the top spot in the Division III poll. Trinity College earned one first-place vote to rank second. William Smith College ranked third, followed by the United States Coast Guard Academy and Colby College.

Washington Remains on Top of Men’s Poll; Princeton Tops Lightweight Women’s Poll

For the third week in a row, the University of Washington claimed the top spot in the USRowing Men’s Varsity Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll, while Princeton University earned the top spot in the first USRowing Lightweight Women’s Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll of the year.

Washington earned seven of 10 first-place votes to take the top spot in the men’s poll. Stanford University received three first-place votes to rank second. Brown University ranked third, followed by California and Yale.

In the lightweight women’s poll, Princeton University received five of eight first-place votes to earn the top spot. Wisconsin earned three first-place votes to rank second. Georgetown, Radcliffe, and Central Florida rounded out the top five.
