Princeton, Western Washington and Ithaca Remain On Top of Women’s Coaches’ Polls

INDIANAPOLIS – For the sixth week in a row, Princeton University claimed the top spot in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. Western Washington University and Ithaca College topped the Division II poll and Division III polls, respectively.

In Division I, Princeton earned 10 of 17 first-place votes to remain atop the poll. The University of California at Berkeley received seven first-place votes to keep the second position, while Michigan State University moved into the third position after winning the Big 10 Championships this past weekend. The Ohio State University and Harvard University rounded out the top five.

Western Washington University was a unanimous choice for the top spot in the Division II poll, earning all four first-place votes. Nova Southeastern ranked second, while Mercyhurst College ranked third.

In the Division III poll, Ithaca College remained No. 1, earning six of nine first-place votes. Trinity College earned two first-place votes to stay in the second position, while Williams College ranked third. The University of Puget Sound (one first-place vote) and Smith College rounded out the top five.

Harvard University Tops Men’s Eight Poll; Princeton University Tops Women’s Lightweight Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – Harvard University kept the No. 1 ranking in this week’s USRowing Men’s Varsity Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll, while Princeton University remained on top of the USRowing Women’s Lightweight Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll.

Harvard garnered 15 of 17 first-place votes to remain No. 1 in the men’s rankings. The University of California at Berkeley ranked second, earning the remaining two first-place votes. Princeton University, the University of Washington, and Stanford University rounded out the top five.

Princeton University earned six of eight first-place votes to take the top spot in the lightweight women’s poll. The University of Wisconsin earned two first-place votes to rank second. Radcliffe, Stanford University, and Georgetown University rounded out the top five.
