Beer Garden ("Beer Regatta USA")
"Beer City Beer Garden" Information
Grand Rapids has been recognized as a craft beer mecca, and has been bestowed the title of "Beer City USA" for multiple years, for many reasons:
- 15 local breweries in town including Founder's, which was voted the 3rd best brewery on Earth;
- Countless local brewpubs, including HopCat, voted #1 in the country, and #3 in the world;
- The top beer grocery in America, Siciliano's, and many other retailers in the area, will make it possible for you to take a few of your favorites home with you.
The beer garden at Masters Nationals is going to be a reflection of Grand Rapids' brewing culture, with craft beer from several breweries on tap each day of the regatta (including the practice day) and a featured brewery each race day with staff on hand to answer all of your questions. In fact, beer is even being created to commemorate the regatta! For non-beer drinkers in the crowd, we also have other options available, including non-alcoholic beverages.
Thursday Evening Beer Tour
On Thursday Evening, experience two of the best breweries that Grand Rapids has to offer and a
world class craft beer bar that brews its own small batch specialties. West Michigan Beer Tours is proud to be partnering with West Michigan Sports Commission to
offer a walking tour of downtown Grand Rapids. For more details about the event and how to obtain tickets please go to the following link.
Friday Evening Reception
On Friday evening, plan to stick around at the park for a reception to enjoy complimentary drinks, delicious barbecue from a local restaurant, homemade cookies and other desserts as well as the great company of your fellow rowers. Festivities begin at 6:00pm and continue until 7:30pm. We will also toast the Detroit Boat Club, the oldest rowing club in America, celebrating their 175th anniversary in 2014.
