Ever wonder what it’s like to row with Olympians or be instructed by national team coaches? Now is your chance to live the dream!
The 2010 USRowing Fantasy Camp will be held December 12-14, 2010 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. The cost of the camp is $1,900.00. Registration is open to masters age rowers with at least two years of rowing experience. Registration materials are available online. Space is limited to 16 people, so be sure to sign up early before all the spots are taken.
The USRowing Fantasy Camp offers participants the opportunity to experience the thrill of being a world-class athlete. U.S. women’s national team head coach Tom Terhaar and national team athletes share their expertise to help experience rowing at the highest level. The camp is also a great chance to support the athletes and programs of USRowing, a non-profit organization and the national governing body for the sport.
Highlights include:
- Four on-the-water sessions on Lower Otay Lake, which houses a 15,000-square foot boathouse that includes seven bays used by US Rowing and USA Canoe/Kayak
- Eat with other world class athletes at the Olympic Training Center
- Accommodations for two nights will be provided on Coronado Island
- Ground transportation to and from airport, hotel and practice venue (air transportation not included)
- Meals, snacks and team dinner
- Video review with national team coaching staff
- Personalized Boathouse Sports gear package
- DVD, team photo, and completion certificate
Last year’s camp was a huge success. Here’s what some of the participants had to say about their experience:
“It’s hard to choose my favorite part of camp. I loved it all so much. The race pieces were great! I loved the intensity and the fact we were mixed right in with national team rowers.”
“The time spent with the athletes really made the experience! I feel like I know the entire women’s national team now.”
“It was excellent all around. I would definitely recommend it to other people.”
