Hosting Opportunity for the USRowing Junior Men’s National Team Development Camp
USRowing is presently accepting proposals from those individuals and/or organizations interested in organizing and hosting the USRowing Junior Men’s National Team Development Camp for approximately thirty (30) athletes from June 21 to July 19, 2009.
The successful host candidate will address the following:
- Facilities that will be used including description of waterway, boathouse and availability of boats, oars, launches, ergs and other related equipment.
- Description of anticipated housing and food arrangements including supervision of athletes off-the-water.
- Local transportation
- Travel plans for the camp to USRowing Club National Championships in Oak Ridge, Tenn., July 15-19, 2009.
- Travel plans for thirteen (13) selected athletes from the camp to CanAmMex in Mexico City, Mexico, assuming schedule of CanAmMex is the same timeframe as Club Nationals.
- Preliminary budget
- Experience of named Head Coach including the demonstrated ability to supervise and manage staff (coaching staff and support personnel) that supports the Development Camp program. (Note: A full and complete background check of the Head Coach and all assistant coaches will be conducted at the discretion of USRowing. By filing an application in response to this announcement, the applicant gives permission to USRowing to conduct such a background check of all information and to all persons and institutions listed in this application.)
- Training Program outline for the camp including sample daily schedule and anticipated off-the-water activities.
- The ability to work with the USRowing Junior National Team Development Head Coach in the formulation of a performance plan that will elevate the performance levels of all athletes in the camp.
- Working knowledge of USRowing Junior Men’s National Team programs including Identification Camps and Selection Camp.
- The ability to work with national and local media and consistently represent USRowing in a positive and professional manner.
- Experience in the use of computerized systems, video analysis and physiological testing mechanisms.
