International Results: Finished fourth in the lightweight quadruple sculls at the 2004 FISA World Championships…Finished sixth in the lightweight quadruple sculls at the 2003 FISA World Championships… Finished sixth in the lightweight quadruple sculls at the 2002 FISA World Championships.

National Results: Finished second in the lightweight double sculls at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials…Won the lightweight double sculls at the 2008 National Selection Regatta #2…Won the lightweight quadruple sculls at the 2003 Pan American Game Trials…Won the lightweight single sculls and finished second in the lightweight quadruple sculls at the 2002 USRowing National Championships…Finished sixth in the lightweight eight at the 1999 Eastern Sprints.

Personal: Michael is a four-time senior national team member…He enjoys whitewater kayaking, fly-fishing, surfing, sailing and swing dancing…Michael is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and is a researcher at the Institute for International Economics in Washington, D.C…He won the Stephanie Waterman Medal in 1999, given to the outstanding student-athlete in Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service…In September of 1999, Michael was speared by the bow of the George Washington University’s women’s eight in a head-on collision and suffered broken ribs, deep lacerations in his back and left side, and a collapsed lung…His personal hero is his grandfather, who fought in World War II and was honored with two Purple Hearts.
