Todd won the 2024 USRowing Para Male Athlete of the Year. Outside of rowing, Todd likes to watch movies and watch sports. He enjoys drinking coffee and likes to take walks with his wife, Heather, and his dog, Lona. Todd was a walk-on in college. He saw a flyer in his dorm, went to the informational meeting, and was hooked after the first practice. He lists David Goggins and Brad Lewis as two of his personal heroes. Both are tough and totally dedicated. Once he’s done rowing, Todd would love to write a book and do some speaking about his rowing and Parkinson's experience. His favorite place to compete is Gavirate, Italy, -- beautiful scenery, nice water, great food, cute town. His favorite place to travel is to Italy. He loves the food, tries to speak the language, and says the people are great. His favorite Olympic moment is the 2004 men’s four race in Athens as it’s one of the most exciting rowing races ever. It gives Todd goosebumps at the finish of the race every time he watches it. He also loves seeing the famous Matthew Pinsent crying on the medal stand. Todd said movies and books are his things. His favorite movies include The Big Lebowski, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Dune (the David Lynch version). For books, he enjoys Dune (of course), Assault on Lake Casitas, and 3 Body Problem. Musically, he likes all kinds of different things from grunge (loves some Nirvana), Beck, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Herbie Hancock, and Johnny Cash, amongst others.
