New York Athletic Club

Description

Rowing has been a part of the New York Athletic Club tradition for over 150 years. Through the generations, the Club has had an incredible history of rowers representing the Club and their country at the Olympic Games, in World Championships, and national championships. The current competitive program supports national team athletes training at the various national training centers and locally based athletes training at the Club's fully equipped boathouse at Travers Island.

An Olympic development rowing program based at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Craftsbury Common, Vermont. Athletes train year-round and race throughout the country and world. Along the way, the Project shares its knowledge of environmental issues with its communities and encourages others to take action and live green. With a unique mission, it is the only elite rowing program that is part of a multi-sport team. Athletes in the program are encouraged and taught to be self-sufficient, eager, curious, and humble in their professional pursuit of rowing.

The California Rowing Club exists to provide a development opportunity for collegiate rowers to make the step from university rowing to Under-23 and Senior National Team competition. Rowers from across the U.S. and the world are welcome to join the CRC to develop their technical and physical skills, with the goal of progressing to their respective national teams.

Description

ARION is a program built around small boat skills. Significant emphasis is placed on teaching boat-moving skills. For training, athletes use personal and club boats, C2 ergs, bike ergs, and road bikes. Athletes are also encouraged to participate in cross-training outdoors when the weather permits. Hiking, biking, swimming, and running are excellent local options. For weight training, athletes can lift at a newly designed gym on their premises.
