Couper placed first overall in the youth Rev3 triathlon in Venice, Fla. When he was a toddler, his family would compete in local running races and he would finish relatively fast compared to the grown people around me. There was a local news article written about his family and their athletics. He likes building go karts, motorcycles, and boats. He owns a racing go kart and a John boat. His dad competed in the indoor erg sprints in New Zealand and competed against some of the best Olympic athletes in the world at the time. Because of his dad’s participation in the sport, his sisters and him thought they would try it out. His dad has always been his hero. He’s always making sure his family is taken care of. Whether it’s fixing something around the house or offering advice when Couper is facing a tough decision, he’s always there with a solution and a smile. His strength, kindness, and relentless work ethic inspire Couper every day. He hopes to be as dependable and loving as he is. He would like to design and build hand crafted race cars. One of his favorite Olympic moments was watching Usain Bolt win the 100 meters in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His sheer speed and the way he celebrated even before crossing the finish line was electrifying. It was an incredible display of athleticism and confidence. He likes listening to funny podcasts like The Joe Rogan Experience or Theo Vons podcast.
