Emily was voted her team captain and received the Hammer Award and MVP Award on her team. She enjoys sailing, Irish step dancing, listening to music and volleyball. She is a self-acclaimed foodie. Emily competed as an Irish Dancer for 11 years. She is the youngest of 4 rowing siblings. Her older brother Kyle began rowing when she was three years old, while he was at Blair, then heavyweight at Yale. Both of her older sisters began rowing eventually, too. So when it was time for her to pick a high school sport, she had the height and physicality for rowing, and she has never known life without rowing. It’s always been a part of her life. Her mom is her hero because she would sacrifice everything for her kids. She is so selfless, strong, and fun to be around. She is like a best friend. Also- she is a huge cross-fitter and has been crushing her goals and killing the workouts. She doesn’t really ever see there being an “after” rowing. She always wants it to have space in some part of her life. She is going to study medicine and Spanish at Stanford and hopes to become a Pediatric Surgeon. Emily has received the 2021 Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenships Award, the 2021 Row New Jersey Novice MVP, the 2021 Row New Jersey Novice Hammer Award, and the 2023 All Mapl Recognition First Team. Her favorite shows are Grey’s Anatomy and Friends, which she says never get old.
