A Hero for DaisyA Hero for Daisy Webinar Panel Discussion
Friday, May 13 · 6:30 p.m.
A Hero for Daisy chronicles two-time Olympian Chris Ernst, who galvanized her rowing team to storm the Yale University athletic director's office in 1976 to protest the lack of locker room facilities for the women. Nineteen athletes stripped, exposing the phrase "Title IX" in blue marker (referring to legislation enacted in 1972 mandating gender equity for all institutions receiving federal aid). The impact was immediate and national in scope.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring director and 1992 Olympian, Mary Mazzio, and moderated by Olympic teammate, Tracy Brown.
Register to receive a link to steam the film ahead of the webinar.
The link to stream will be live from May 10-14.
Please note this is now a virtual-only event; there will not be an in-person screening.
Both events are free to attend, but registration is requested for the film presentation
Can't make the events? Please consider a gift in honor of the achievements of Title IX to support the U.S. Women's National Team and the next generation of Olympians and Paralympians.
