Four U.S. Athletes Interning at Broadridge Financial Solutions

In October 2022, four national team athletes – Molly Reckford, Regina Salmons, Michelle Sechser, and Jessica Thoennes – began paid internships with USRowing sponsor Broadridge Financial Services, a global Fintech leader based in Lake Success, N.Y.

Athletes were assigned to the consulting group and marketing team. Broadridge is working closely with USA athletes and coaches to provide a flexible work schedule – taking into account training and international racing schedules, all while offering valuable work experience to help ensure athlete success on and off the water.

Salmons, a Tokyo 2020 Olympian who is working in the consulting group, said she is "excited to learn something new every day; listening to calls and applying myself to projects." Salmons feels that her experience as an elite athlete has served her very well at Broadridge.

"I appreciate the balance of rowing and working because I have the ability to be 'in the zone,'" she said. "In rowing, you train yourself to be able to access that high level of focus where your brain just goes full speed on that one thing and learning to translate that to my professional life has been incredibly rewarding."

Thoennes, also a Tokyo 2020 Olympian, is working on the Broadridge marketing team and said, "This opportunity with Broadridge is an incredibly motivating and exciting experience. Creating a professional space for elite athletes to explore, grow, and excel is no small feat, and knowing that the success of this initial group can positively impact future elite athletes is a driving force for me."

USRowing is proud of our partnership with Broadridge and grateful for their support of our programs.
