Personal
Andy enjoys barbecuing, audiobooks, and perfecting recovery modalities. Dr. Arthur Pappas, the Red Sox team physician at the time, performed his amputation surgery in 1978. Go Sox!! Andy found rowing via the ergometer in 2018 through a Squash Club. He lists Wayne Gretzky as his personal hero. As a hockey player since age 10, Andy admired Gretzkys mental model for the game, which allowed him to know where the puck was going versus where it was currently. He also admires Muhammad Ali, a true champion who stood up for his beliefs, and Edward Hopper, for the way he captured light with paint on canvas. He has a 17-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter, but has yet to convince them to take up rowing.
