2024 Athlete Development Camps
These camps are hosted nation wide and designed to train elite athletes into becoming prospective High Performance candidates.
Development Camp Candidates
For individuals to be compliant and eligible to attend USRowing Development Camps, all the following criteria must be met: be a US citizen or applying for citizenship, have an active USRowing Championship membership with the proper club affiliation, acknowledgement of the USRowing membership agreement and waiver, and complete both the SafeSport training self attestation and SafeSport training per USRowing's SafeSport Policy Cornell U23 Development Camp

Athlete Fee: $375 for camp plus $550 for Canadian Henley
Training fee includes: Facility and equipment use, coaching, boat insurance and uniform. Canadian Henley Regatta Fee includes: entry fees, equipment transport to regatta, coaching and hotel at regatta
Qualification Criteria
At least 1 year of Collegiate Rowing experience. Under 6:20 2k score.
Camp Objectives
Development of small boats skills by training and racing, primarily in 2- and 4-. Sculling may also be incorporated based on interest and experience of athletes. Athletes will row on the water 6 mornings a week: Mon-Fri 6:30-8:15am, Sat 8-10am, (may be changed based on rowers schedule).

Athlete Fee: $725
Cost covers the use of rowing equipment, staffing, camp tank and entry fees for RowFest. Campers are responsible for all transportation, housing and meals for the camp and regatta.

Mendota Development Camp

Men, Sweep, Coxswains, Under 23, Heavyweight
Athlete Fee: $600
Costs cover use, transportation and insurance of rowing equipment, a racing tank, and regatta entry fees.
Qualification Criteria
Heaveyweight athletes interested in attending camp should have ergometer scores under 6:20 for 2000 meters. Lightweights should be under 6:30 at weight. Height and weight will be taken into consideration along with erg score. Coxswains should have at least a year of experience and will be evaluated on the basis of their coxing resume and weight.
Camp Objectives
To provide opportunities for U23- and Senior Team-eligible men to row and race in pairs, fours and eights in a competitive environment, and to improve fitness, technique and racing strategy. Athletes will gain skills and knowledge necessary to compete for spots on U23 and Senior National Rowing Team. Athletes should expect to compete in 3-7 events at Club Nationals and Canadian Henley. The number of campers is limited to 50, however only 24 athletes will compete at Canadian Henley.

Qualification Criteria
Willingness to learn/improve in a single scull. Current collegiate athletes or recent collegiate grads (no juniors). By consent of coaching staff.
Camp Objectives
Improvement and Competitive Success primarily in single sculls. We will also combine to form larger crews (doubles, quads, pairs, fours, eights) for competitions as combinations allow.

Development of small boats technical and racing skills in 1x, 2x, 2-, 4+, 4- to provide a structured pathway to U23 Trials and Canadian Henley.
