USRowing Announces Pan American Games Qualification Regatta Roster

USRowing is pleased to announce the roster that will represent the U.S. at the 2023 Pan American Games Qualification Regatta April 15-19 in Concepcion, Chile.

While the selection process for the qualification regatta began last November with the Pan American Games Trials, the roster wasn't finalized until this week due to changes in the dates of the qualification regatta.

The U.S. will have 12 boats competing in the five-day regatta including the men's and women's single sculls, double sculls, lightweight double sculls, quadruple sculls, pair, and four.

Twenty athletes will make up this year's roster including Jacob Plihal and Grace Joyce, who raced in the men's and women's quadruple sculls, respectively, at the 2022 World Rowing Championships. Plihal and Joyce won the two singles events at the Pan Am trials and will race in both the single sculls and quadruple sculls in Concepcion. Sean Richardson, who will race in the lightweight men's double sculls in Chile, competed in the lightweight men's quad at last year's world championships, while Elizabeth Martin, who will race in the lightweight women's double sculls at the qualification regatta, raced in the lightweight women's quad at last year's worlds. Ezra Carlson and Hannah Paynter were alternates on last year's world championships' squad.

USRowing would like to thank Filippi Lido, the Official Boat Supplier for the U.S. Senior, Under 23, and Para Rowing National Teams. Under the agreement, Filippi is providing USRowing a fleet of boats for international competitions including the World Rowing Cup regattas, World Rowing Under 23 Championships, World Rowing Championships, Olympic Games, and Paralympic Games, as well as a domestic training fleet for the USRowing Training Center.
