Finished second in the junior men's solo and junior mixed double sculls at the 2023 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals. Finished second in the junior men's double sculls at the 2022 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals.

Won the junior men's solo and junior mixed double sculls at the 2023 Beach Sprint National Team Trials. Finished third in the double sculls at the 2023 USRowing Youth National Championships. Finished second in the double sculls at the 2023 Midwest Junior Rowing Championships. Won the junior men's double sculls at the 2022 Beach Sprint National Team Trials. Finished 19th in the youth single sculls and raced in the youth quadruple sculls at the 2022 USRowing Youth National Championships. Finished third in the quadruple sculls at the 2022 Midwest Junior Rowing Championships. Raced in the youth pair at the 2021 USRowing Youth National Regatta.

Malachi enjoys running, biking, working on cars, and flying drones. He earned a fifth-place medal in the All-Lutheran Basketball State Championships. Malachi attended the FIRST Robotics World Championship in 2023 in Houston, Texas, and he enjoys competing in FIRST Robotics on Team 325 - Respawn Robotics. He found rowing when Great Miami Rowing recruited him through his middle school, Immanuel Lutheran School. He would like to finish his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology. His favorite place to compete is Oak Ridge, Tenn., and his favorite place to travel is Gatlinburg, Tenn.
