2022 Youth Series – Week 3 Preview
The road to the 2022 USRowing Youth National Championships continues this weekend as four more qualification regattas will be held across the country.
More than 1,400 athletes and 500 crews from 28 clubs are scheduled to race at the 2022 USRowing Northwest Youth Championships. Held May 20-22 on Vancouver Lake in Vancouver, Wash., crews will be vying for titles in 46 events. Pocock Rowing Center has the most entries with 48 boats scheduled to race, while Bainbridge Island Rowing has 38 entries. The women's and men's youth double sculls lead the way in terms of entries with 22 and 20 crews scheduled to race, respectively.
The 2022 USRowing Norhteast Youth Championships will be held May 21-22 on the Merrimack River in Lowell, Mass.. Over 1,700 athletes and 430 boats from 45 clubs are scheduled to race. Community Rowing, Inc., has the most boats entered, with 30 crews slated to compete. Maritime Rowing Club will be sending 29 boats. The women's youth double leads the way in entries with 22, followed by the men's youth four with coxswain with 21. Last year, Greenwich Crew won the overall and women's points trophies, with Maritime winning the men's and sculling points trophies. Connecticut Boat Club won the novice points trophy.
The 2022 Midwest Junior Rowing Championship, which will take place at Lake Harsha in Bethel, Ohio, will feature more than 500 boats from 30 clubs racing in 46 events. The men's single leads the way in entries with 27 scullers scheduled to race, while the women's single has 25 scullers entered. Chicago Rowing Foundation will be bringing the most boats with 39 scheduled to race. Indianapolis Rowing Center has the next most entries with 34.
The 2022 Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association City Championships, which were originally scheduled to take place May 7-8, have been rescheduled for May 22 after being postponed due to dangerous river conditions. Over 500 boats from 77 programs are scheduled to race across 48 events on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pa. Conestoga Crew Club and Ridgewood Crew Foundation lead the way, each having 16 boats entered. The girls' varsity four has the most entries with 25, followed by the boys' varsity four with 21.

The 2022 USRowing Youth National Championships will be held in partnership with Visit Sarasota County and the Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy from June 9-12 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla. Athletes must qualify for the event through one of 12 qualification regattas.
