Eisser, O’Brien Looking to Race Pair at World Rowing Cup Later this Spring

PRINCETON, N.J. – In February of 2020, USRowing Training Center-Princeton's Tracy Eisser (Fair Lawn, N.J.) and Kristine O'Brien (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) won the women's pair at the 2020 National Selection Regatta in Chula Vista, Calif., earning them the right to race at a World Rowing Cup for the chance to be named to the Olympic Team. COVID-19 put that on hold.

Over a year later, Eisser and O'Brien will be taking the opportunity to test their speed in the pair at an upcoming World Rowing Cup race. A top-two finish at either the first or second world cup would give the crew the option of being named to the Olympic team in the event. The first two world cups are scheduled for April 30-May 2 in Zagreb, Croatia, and May 21-23 in Lucerne, Switzerland.

If the duo does not finish in the top two or chooses not to accept the spot following a top-two finish, the women's pair will be selected at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Rowing #3, scheduled to take place June 4-6, 2021, in West Windsor, N.J., if necessary.

Eisser and O'Brien also will be part of the selection camp for the women's eight and four that gets underway today in Princeton.
