National Rowing Foundation Awards $450,000 Grant to USRowing to Support US National Team

USRowing is pleased to announce it has received a $450,000 grant from the National Rowing Foundation (NRF) to support the development and success of the 2025 U.S. National Teams.

This grant will be used to fully cover support, development, and travel expenses for four elite events, the men’s and women’s doubles and the men’s and women’s pairs, from the World Cups in Varese, Italy and Lucerne, Switzerland, to the 2025 World Championships in Shanghai, China, in September. This grant will also provide support for the development camp for the U23 athletes and the Coastal World Championships

We are thankful to the National Rowing Foundation for their continued support of our national teams,” said Amanda Kraus, Chief Executive Officer of USRowing. “Among other critical needs that this grant supports, it allows us to invest more deeply in small boat development, which is essential to our long-term national team success.”

As part of this grant, two eights for the Senior National Team will also be purchased and named in honor of the late Michael “Mungo” Meehan, co-founder of Power 10 New York and the long-serving President of the National Rowing Foundation. These two eights will be housed and used by our national team athletes at the domestic training centers during the LA28 Olympic cycle, further strengthening the infrastructure and support for elite U.S. athletes.

“The NRF is proud of our decades-long history of supporting the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams, our national team athletes, and USRowing’s High Performance Program. We are pleased to continue this commitment to the USRowing,” said NRF Co-Chairs Jamie Koven and Marcia Hooper.

This collaboration underscores USRowing’s and the NRF’s mission to support excellence in American rowing and provide resources that elevate our national team athletes' performances.
