USRowing Announces 2026 Land-Based ID Camps

USRowing will host several one-day ID camps at locations across the country. ID camps are a key way to get on the radar of national team coaches, show what you are capable of, and learn about the national team pathways. These camps are open to all U19 age-eligible athletes and will consist of an on-land program, including short-distance erg testing, educational sessions, national team technical instruction, coxswain-specific educational programming, and information about USRowing U19 Summer Camps, including the 2026 U19 Team Selection Camp.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Pathways Presentation: Learn about USRowing summer opportunities and the broader goals of the Pathways Program.
  • Technical Presentation: A comprehensive technical model anchors the ID Camp curriculum, guiding athletes through the core principles of efficient rowing—balance, rhythm, power transfer, and boat speed control.
  • NEW! Performance Education: New this year, ID Camps will include targeted education designed to give athletes and coaches evidence-based strategies to optimize training and elevate performance. From mindset and movement to fueling right, these lessons support long-term growth on and off the water.
  • Coxswain Presentation: A National Team Coxswain will lead a session tailored specifically for coxswains, offering expert insights, strategies, and race-day preparation tips.
  • Testing Protocols: Athletes will participate in 1' and 100m erg tests.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND:

  • Early Access to Summer Camp Invitations: Top performers at ID Camps may receive early invitations to the Pathways Development Camp (PDC) or the Selection Development Camp (SDC). This accelerated access gives athletes a head start on summer planning and a clearer pathway toward national-level opportunities.
  • Learn How Elite Rowers Train: Through interactive sessions and guided instruction, athletes get a behind-the-scenes look at the training habits, technique principles, and mindset frameworks used across the USRowing High Performance system. These are practical, actionable tools that athletes can apply immediately.
  • Understand the Full U19 Pathways Program: ID Camps offer a clear, accessible introduction to the entire USRowing Pathway. Athletes will leave with a better understanding of how PDC, SDC, U19 Selection Camp, and the National Team connect, and what skills they can develop now to prepare for each step.
  • Connect With Coaches Who Work Directly in the System: Athletes engage with coaches who lead the very camps and programs they aspire to join. These interactions help athletes understand expectations, ask questions, and gain confidence about pursuing high-performance opportunities.
