USRowing Announces Completion of $500,000 Matching Gift Challenge
NEW YORK – USRowing and the USRowing Foundation (USRF) are pleased to announce the completion of an unrestricted $250,000 matching gift challenge from Linda and Andy McLane. The match, plus five $50,000 gifts from generous donors, amounted to a $500,000 total contribution to USRowing.
Contributors to the match include Tim Gokey, The Goldring Family Foundation, William McNabb, and two anonymous donors.
"Linda and I are pleased to see this gift match completed so quickly," said Andy McLane, USRF Trustee and chair of the USRF Nominating Committee. "USRowing is aiming to raise $6.5 million this year in the lead up to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and it's impressive to see donors step up so generously."
In addition to their matching gift, the McLanes have given $250,000 earmarked for USRowing's 2023 fundraising goals and $250,000 for the U.S. National Team facility expansion at the Princeton National Rowing Association's Caspersen Rowing Center in West Windsor, N.J.
"We've seen an impressive and positive jump in fundraising from USRowing over the last three years," said McLane. "It's exciting to see the organization set ambitious growth goals. There is the capacity in this sport, and we're starting to realize those possibilities."
USRowing is currently at 98 percent of its 2023 total fundraising goal of $6.5 million for the year, with significant momentum coming from the newly-formed USRowing Foundation. Included in funds raised this year is a grant of $550,000 from the National Rowing Foundation, for which USRowing is most grateful.
