USRowing Announces the 2025 Para PR3 National Team Coach
USRowing is pleased to announce Katy Ruderman as the 2025 Para PR3 National Team coach. She will lead the PR3 crews representing the United States at the 2025 World Rowing Championships this September.
Katy Ruderman is the associate head coach at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She previously coached at George Washington University for three seasons as an assistant coach for the women’s rowing team. During her tenure, she helped the Colonials achieve second-place finishes at the Atlantic 10 Rowing Championships in 2021 and 2022—tying the program’s best result at the regatta. Ruderman also served as the U23 High Performance Coach at Potomac Boat Club.
Before joining GW, Ruderman spent nine years coaching at the junior and high school levels, developing a highly competitive team with over 20 nationally ranked boats. Three of her boats qualified for youth nationals, including a lightweight eight that placed sixth in 2019. She also served as head junior men’s coach and program director at Dirty Water Boat Club in Boston.
"We are excited to welcome Katy to our Para High Performance program,” said Ellen Minzner, Director of Para High Performance. “Katy's experience with collegiate and U19/U23 high performance squads is a perfect fit for our PR3 program, where our top rowers will be emerging from the college ranks over the next couple of years."
Ruderman earned her bachelor’s degree in health and wellness promotion from Cambridge College and holds a Level 3 Coach certification from USRowing.
