USRowing Announces Unrestricted Gift from Dr. Roxanne Everetts Focusing on Referee Support
USRowing is honored to announce an unrestricted gift of nearly $100,000 from the estate of long-time USRowing referee Dr. Roxanne Everetts.
Everetts, who was a professor and chair of the cyber strategy and infrastructure department at the National Defense University's College of Information and Cyberspace in Washington, D.C., passed away in March of this year. In honor of Everetts, USRowing will invest the gift in supporting referee travel and stipends.
A USRowing referee since the late 1980s, Everetts officiated at some of the country's most important and prestigious regattas including the Head of the Schuylkill, EAWRC Sprints, IRA National Championships, and U.S. Olympic Team Trials. She was selected as USRowing's Julian Wolf Award winner in 1998. Everetts was a mentor to many of her fellow referees and is dearly missed.
"Roxanne Everetts made a substantial impact on the referee community and her gift will help the rowing community for years to come," said USRowing CEO Amanda Kraus.
