USRowing Statement on the Rise in Anti-Asian Violence
The rise in anti-Asian violence is a source of deep anguish and distress to all who value basic principles of decency, equity and fellowship. The recent events in Atlanta have only amplified such feelings. Condemnation alone is not sufficient to fully address the deep currents of division that arise from discrimination and violence. We must come together as a community to combat bigotry and hate, and express support and solidarity for all who suffer from such acts.
USRowing is committed to protecting all members of our community and will not tolerate acts of hate against our Asian American or Pacific Islander members. We encourage everyone who has not yet read our DEI statement on behalf of the committee to click here to see USRowing's current efforts to combat racism and support BIPOC athletes.
