USRowing Youth Series 2021: Week 4

USRowing's Youth Series concludes this weekend with the 2021 USRowing Northwest Youth Championships in Vancouver, Wash.

The Northwest Youth Championships will feature over 640 athletes and 254 entries from 22 clubs. Crews will race for medals across 23 events at Vancouver Lake. Pocock Rowing Center has the most entries with 38, while Olympic Area Rowing Association has 24.

This past weekend, the USRowing Northeast Youth Championships took place at Fish Creek in Saratoga, N.Y. Greenwich Crew took home the overall points trophy and the women's points trophy, while Maritime Rowing Club won the men's points trophy and the sculling points trophy. Connecticut Boat Club won the novice points trophy.

"We're looking forward to the USRowing Northwest Youth Championships this weekend, as we wrap up our Youth Series regional events," said James Rawson, USRowing Director of Events. "With the USRowing Youth National Regatta less than a month away, we're excited to see so many crews back on the water and getting ready to race in Sarasota."

Unlike previous years, this year's regional youth championships are not serving as automatic qualifiers for the 2021 USRowing Youth National Regatta due to COVID. But, they do serve as an opportunity for crews to race for regional titles, lay down some fast times and start their final preparations for the upcoming national regatta in Sarasota.

The 2021 USRowing Youth National Regatta will be held in partnership with Visit Sarasota County and the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates (SANCA) on June 10-13 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla.

As always, USRowing's number one priority is to run a safe regatta. USRowing has a robust COVID risk mitigation plan in place for all of its Youth Series regattas in order to try to provide as safe of a competition environment as possible for our athletes, coaches, referees, volunteers, staff, supporters, and other attendees.
