Personal
Sam enjoys rowing, drawing, coding, running, and camping. He ran cross-country throughout high school and is the only male rower in Nebraska, so he practiced with a Division I womens program (Creighton). Sams father was a national and international rowing coach in Canada and began coaching Sam when he turned 11. He names his personal hero as Ollie Zeilder. Sam said he always thinks about how Zeilders face is totally expressionless through the bulk of the race, and it is something Dowd aspires to do through 2ks.
