Personal

Veronica began rowing in high school after struggling with shin splints and other injuries. She was named to the All-West Coast Conference team all four years of collegiate rowing. She loves hiking in the mountains, reading and writing, cooking new ethnic foods, ball sports, finding new coffee shops to work at, and improvising new songs on the piano. She comes from a large Latino family where all her sisters names begin with V. She loves corn dogs and hot cheetos and visiting her extended family in Mexico. She loves music from classical to rock. She listens to the Rich Roll podcast, the Growth Mindset podcast, Jocko Willink, Abiding Together, and lastly The Other 3 Years, hosted by her teammate, Kristi Wagner. She enjoys Anime, Broadway shows, and Brooklyn 99. She lists Allyson Felix among her heroes for her speed on the track and her impact on mothers in sports. She was pre-med in college and is interested in studying holistic or microbial medicine. Her passion is helping others.
