109 National Champions Crowned at the 2025 USRowing Indoor National Championships
USRowing crowned 109 National Champions this weekend at the 2025 USRowing Indoor National Championships on February 1, 2025. In partnership with Atlanta Erg Sprints, NW Ergomania!, Pittsburgh Indoor Sprints, South Side Smackdown / The Tiro Cup, and Tennessee Indoor Rowing Championships, the national championships handed out 240 medals and saw two world records broken by Luanne Mills and Nancy Cook.
This year's event included over 1,500 entries from 125 clubs. Presented in part by CrewLab, the event featured races in over 100 events including under 15, under 17, under 19, under 23, open, lightweight, Para, and masters divisions.
Luanne Mills shattered the World Record for the Masters K (84-89) age group by over 19 seconds that was previously held by Canadian Alida Kingswood. Mills competed at the NW Ergomania! in Tacoma, Washington, writing her name in the record books with a time of 9:52.4. Nancy Cook from Live2Row Studios won the Women’s Masters F (60-65) National Championship by exactly 30 seconds. Her time of 7:29.7 broke the previous world record by 2.3 seconds.Â
Karlie Vince from Inglemoor High School dominated the U19 women’s event, winning in a time of 7:11.1. Julia Riley from North Catholic High School and Mariko Fukuda closed out the top three. In the men’s U19 event, Calvin Hrycay’s sprint in the final 500 meters of the event captured the gold medal. The Triad United Rowing Association rower beat Solomon Spears from Central Catholic Crew and Lazlo Davis-Rudin from Seattle Scullers in a time of 6:23.8. Spears and Davis-Rudin finished within two seconds of the winner.Â
In the men’s open category, Serhii Budko from Orlando Rowing Association led the race from start to finish, winning in a time of 6:01.3. Zach Fowle took second in a time of 6:04.4 and Daniel Jacobs took third in a time of 6:10.3. Anneta Kyridou from GCRA-PARP won the national championship in the women’s open category in a time of 7:07.8. Marsha Coniglio and Suzanne Maddamma from Steel City Rowing Club took silver and bronze, respectively.
