USRowing Announces 2027 Scholastic Honor Roll
USRowing is proud to announce the Class of 2027 Scholastic Honor Roll, recognizing 560 student-athletes for their academic achievements. Now in its 34th year, the Scholastic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in the classroom while pursuing the demands of competitive rowing.
For the 2027 cycle, USRowing revamped the Scholastic Honor Roll selection process to create a more inclusive and transparent standard for recognition. Rather than using a competitive, points-based selection process with a ranked cutoff, the program now recognizes every qualifying student-athlete based on academic achievement.
The Class of 2027 includes 421 First Team honorees, who earned a 4.0 GPA or higher, and 139 Second Team honorees, who earned a GPA between 3.5 and 3.99.
As part of the 2027 revamp, USRowing also introduced the Beyond the Boathouse award, recognizing student-athletes whose contributions extend beyond rowing and academics. Applicants were invited to submit a 200-word essay highlighting their contributions, with submissions evaluated based on writing, contribution and degree of difficulty.
The inaugural Beyond the Boathouse award drew 209 applicants. Eight student-athletes were selected as Beyond the Boathouse award winners, with an additional 12 named Honorable Mention. All essay applicants who met the academic requirements were also recognized as First or Second Team members.
The 2027 Beyond the Boathouse award winners are:
- Arjun Agarwal — First Team
- Theodore Anderson — First Team
- Lily Kalscheur — First Team
- Noel Park — First Team
- Annie Shi — First Team
- Charlize Tan — First Team
- Omya Vidyarthi — First Team
- Christopher Wakefield — First Team
Beyond the Boathouse Honoable Mentions
The 2027 Scholastic Honor Roll represents the largest class recognized in the program’s history under the new model, with the number of First and Second Team honorees growing from 111 in 2026 to 560 this year.
Congratulations to the entire Class of 2027 Scholastic Honor Roll!
