2023 USRowing Youth Series – Week 2 Preview
The road to the 2023 USRowing Youth National Championships continues this weekend as five more qualification regattas will be held across the country.

Over 1,800 athletes are scheduled to race at the 2023 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships May 13-14 at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J. More than 400 boats from 63 clubs are entered across 46 events. Whitemarsh Boat Club leads the way with 31 boats scheduled to compete, followed by Princeton National Rowing Association/Mercer with 27. The women's youth double sculls features the most entries with 23, followed by the men's four with coxswain with 22. Last year, PNRA/Mercer won the overall points trophy and the women's points trophy, while St. Joseph's Prep won the men's points trophy. Merion Mercy Academy won the efficiency trophy.
Nearly 1,500 athletes and 460 crews from 51 clubs are scheduled to race at the 2023 USRowing Southeast Youth Championships. Held May 13-14 on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga., crews will be vying for titles in 42 events. Sarasota Crew has the most entries at the regatta with 50 boats scheduled to race. Miami Rowing and Watersports Center has 25 entries, as does St. Andrew Rowing Club. The women's youth double sculls leads the way in entries with 27 crews scheduled to race. The men's under 17 double has 25 entries. In 2022, Sarasota Crew won the overall points trophy and the men's points trophy. St. Andrew won the women's points and efficiency trophies.
The 2023 Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championships, which will take place May 13-14 at Kent Lake in Milford, Mich., will feature nearly 560 boats from 51 clubs racing in 34 events. The women's novice four with coxswain has the most entries with 29, followed by the men's novice four with coxswain with 27. Skyline Crew from Ann Arbor, Mich., leads the way with 28 entries, while Northville High School Rowing Club has 26 boats scheduled to race.
The 2023 New York State Scholastic Rowing Championships will be held May 13-14 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. More than 60 New York teams and over 600 boats are scheduled to compete. Row America Rye leads the way with 38 entries, followed by Manhasset High School. Thirty-six crews are entered in both the boy's junior/u17 double sculls and boy's junior/u17 four with coxswain.
The 2023 Virginia Scholastic Rowing Championships will be held May 13 on the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax Station, Va. Nearly 220 crews from 51 clubs are scheduled to race across 24 events. The men's four with coxswain leads the way with 17 entries, followed by the women's four with coxswain with 16 entries. Western Albermarle High School has the most boat entries with 16.
The 2023 USRowing Youth Series got underway last weekend with three qualification events.
More than 1,700 rowers raced at the 2023 USRowing Southwest Youth Championships on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif., with Newport Aquatic Center winning the women's point trophy and Marin Rowing Association winning the men's point trophy.
The 2023 USRowing Central Youth Championships featured more than 800 athletes competing, with White Rock Rowing winning the overall and men's points trophies, Dallas United Crew winning the women's points trophy, and Episcopal School of Dallas winning the efficiency trophy.
The 2023 Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association City Championships had more than 500 crews racing with Mount Saint Joseph Academy scoring the most total points and the most points in women's events. La Salle College High School scored the most points in the men's events.
The 2023 USRowing Youth National Championships will be held in partnership with Visit Sarasota County and the Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy from June 8-11 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla. Athletes must qualify for the event through one of 12 qualification regattas, which are held over the next four weekends.
