2024 USRowing Youth Series – Week 3 Preview


Two weeks down; two weeks to go. The road to the 2024 USRowing Youth National Championships continues this weekend as three more qualification regattas will be held across the country.

Over 1,300 athletes are scheduled to race at the 2024 USRowing Northwest Youth Championships May 19-21 on Vancouver Lake in Vancouver, Wash. Twenty-nine clubs have entered 620 boats across the 69 events, with Pocock Youth Rowing leading the way in entries with 45. Bainbridge Island Rowing, Sammamish Rowing Association, and Green Lake Crew also have 40 or more crews scheduled to race. The men's high school eight has 19 crews competing, while the men's youth novice double sculls, women's youth double, and women's high school eight all have 18 crews entered. Last year, Green Lake won the overall points trophy, while Holy Names Academy won the women's points trophy and Sammamish Rowing Association won the men's points trophy.
 
More than 1,800 athletes and 496 boats from 57 clubs are scheduled to race May 20-21 at the 2024 USRowing Northeast Youth Championships in Lowell, Mass. Racing commences on the Merrimack River, Greenwich Crew has the most boats entered at 37, followed by Community Rowing Inc., with 29. The women's youth double sculls has the most entries, with 29 crews. 
 
The 2024 Midwest Junior Rowing Championships will take place May 18-19 at Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio. More than 500 crews from 38 clubs are scheduled to race in the regatta. St. Louis Rowing Club leads the way with 36 crews entered, while Chicago Rowing Foundation has 34 boats scheduled to compete. The women's U17 double sculls has 26 scullers vying for the medals, while 21 crews are entered in the women's varsity double sculls.
 
The 2024 USRowing Youth Series got underway last weekend with four qualification events.

The 2024 USRowing Youth National Championships will be held in partnership with Visit Sarasota County and the Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy from June 8-11 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla. Athletes must qualify for the event through one of 12 qualification regattas, which are held over the next four weekends.
 
The nation's premier rowing venue, Nathan Benderson Park has hosted numerous national and international rowing events including the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic trials and the 2023 USRowing Youth National Championships. 

The 2024 Youth Series and 2024 USRowing Youth National Championships will be streamed live on Overnght for free.
