Applications Open for USRowing U19 Selection and Development Camps
USRowing has officially opened applications for its Under-19 summer camp programs, including the U19 Selection Camp, Selection Development Camp, and Pathways Development Camp. These camps form a critical part of the USRowing Pathways system and provide junior athletes with structured opportunities to train, develop, and progress toward future national team participation.
Each camp is designed to meet athletes at different stages of development while maintaining a shared focus on high-performance standards, technical excellence, and long-term athlete growth.
U19 Selection Camp
The U19 Selection Camp represents the highest level of junior national team identification within USRowing. This camp serves as the final selection opportunity for athletes seeking to represent the United States at the World Rowing U19 Championships.
Athletes invited to this camp are evaluated through a combination of performance metrics, prior camp participation, erg scores, racing results, and coach recommendations. Training is conducted in a highly competitive environment and focuses on small-boat performance, racing readiness, and selection trials. The camp concludes with final team selections for international events.
Applications close February 20.
More information and application details can be found here.
U19 Selection Development Camp
The Selection Development Camp is designed for athletes who are approaching selection-level performance but are still in the development phase. This camp mirrors many elements of the Selection Camp while emphasizing technical improvement, physiological development, and exposure to high-performance training environments.
Athletes participate in testing, small-boat training, and structured evaluations that help identify future national team potential. Strong performances at this camp may lead to invitations to future Selection Camps. The program also includes opportunities to compete against top athletes from different countries at the International Rowing Challenge at the conclusion of the camp.
Applications close March 8.
Additional details are available here.
U19 Pathways Development Camp
The Pathways Development Camp (PDC) focuses on improving technique and fitness, and introducing athletes to the training culture of USRowing’s high-performance pathway. This camp is ideal for emerging U19 athletes who demonstrate strong potential and are seeking exposure to advanced coaching and technical development.
PDC is designed for U19 athletes ready to take the next step in their rowing development and prepare for future national-level opportunities. The curriculum integrates technical training with mental performance and nutrition education to support healthy, long-term athlete development. Intersquad racing is built into the camp to help athletes test their skills, compete, and learn in a high-performance training environment.

How to Apply
Applications for all three camps are now open and must be submitted through the USRowing Member Portal. Athletes should ensure their membership information, performance data, and required documentation are up to date prior to applying. Erg scores can be updated throughout the winter, and it is recommended that athletes apply early and update their scores rather than waiting for a faster erg time.
Scholarship: The United We Row Scholarship provides financial assistance to athletes participating in USRowing camps and programs, helping reduce barriers to access and support long-term involvement in the sport. The scholarship is open to rowers of all levels and encourages applications from athletes who face financial challenges, demonstrate athletic potential and commitment, and/or identify as part of an underrepresented group in rowing.
Applications are reviewed holistically, considering financial need, athletic background and potential, contributions to representation and inclusion, and the applicant’s impact on the growth and accessibility of rowing.
Apply now by completing this FORM.
