Team USA

Partner with USRowing to Create Career-Building Micro-Internships

Support Team USA Athletes and Strengthen the National Team Pipeline

Each summer, America’s top collegiate rowers make an extraordinary choice: they set aside premier internship opportunities to attend the U23 World Championships Selection Camp and pursue the honor of representing the United States. Their commitment to Team USA is unwavering—but it often comes at a professional cost.

USRowing is working to change that.

To ensure these athletes stay on track academically and professionally while training at the highest level, USRowing is partnering with supporters, companies, and community members to create Micro-Internships: short-term, paid, professional projects that fit seamlessly into training schedules. These opportunities allow athletes to build real career experience without stepping away from their pursuit of excellence on the water.

What Are Micro-Internships?

  • Remote, Project-Based: Clearly defined, one-time projects with specific deliverables.
  • Short-Term: Typically 10–40 hours, completed around camp training between June 8 and July 17, 2026.
  • Paid: Fixed project cost, generally $1,000–$2,000, based on scope.
  • Professional: High-value work akin to what an intern or early-career hire would take on.
  • Streamlined: We’ll use a dedicated platform that handles payments, W-9s, and all administrative steps—keeping the experience simple and low-lift for hosts.

Micro-internships help athletes gain meaningful career experience and financial support while competing for national team spots—keeping them competitive with their peers and fully committed to representing the United States.

How You Can Support Team USA Athletes

You can make an immediate, personal impact on the U.S. National Team pipeline by:

  • Creating a micro-internship project within your organization this summer, or
  • Connecting USRowing with companies or colleagues who may be interested in supporting rising Team USA athletes.

Why It Matters

Micro-internships help retain the nation’s most promising young rowers within the high-performance pathway—leading to:

  • Stronger U.S. National Team rosters
  • Greater athlete retention and development
  • More medals for the United States at the 2026 World Championships and beyond
