Seven Crews Accept World Rowing Cup 2 Berths Following Completion of NSRs

Seven crews have accepted their World Rowing Cup 2 berths following the completion of the second USRowing National Selection Regatta at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J.

The six winners from NSR 2 in the men's and women's pairs, double sculls, and lightweight double sculls, as well as the men's single sculls winner from NSR 1, have accepted their spots. The only boat not to accept its world cup berth was the women's single sculls, as both Kara Kohler and Sophia Vitas, who finished first and second, respectively, in the single at NSR 1, declined the berth and have decided to focus on the double sculls in Poland.

The NSR winners earned the right to race at the World Rowing Cup 2 regatta June 17-19 in Poznan, Poland. A top six finish, or top 50 percent finish if there are fewer than 12 entries, in Poznan would earn the athletes the opportunity to represent the U.S. in the event at the 2022 World Rowing Championships in Racice, Czech Republic.

With Kohler and Vitas declining the berth in the women's single, that boat class will now be selected at the 2022 Senior National Team Trials scheduled for August 8-10 at Lake Mercer. The 2022 World Rowing Championships are scheduled for September 18-25 in Racice, Czech Republic.
