U.S. Senior and Para World Rowing Championships Trials to Take Place this Weekend
Time trials will take place tomorrow for the 2025 USRowing World Rowing Championships Trials on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. Athletes are racing for spots on the team to represent the U.S. at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, China, taking place September 21-28, 2025.
Racing will include men’s and women’s single sculls, pairs, lightweight single sculls, lightweight double sculls, and PR1 single sculls. There are 50 entries representing 20 clubs across all categories.
Semifinals will take place on Saturday, August 2, starting at 7:30 a.m., with finals held on Sunday, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Multiple athletes will be returning to compete for spots in the men’s and women’s single sculls, including Olympic medalist Peter Chatain, three-time Beach Sprints world champion Chris Bak, Winter Speed Order Trials winner Maggie Fellows, and three-time national team member Elaine Tierney.

Under the agreement, Filippi is providing USRowing a fleet of boats for international competitions, including the World Rowing Cup regattas, World Rowing Championships, Olympic Games, and Paralympic Games, as well as a domestic training fleet for the USRowing Training Center.
