USRowing Names 2022 Under 23 and Under 19 National Teams

USRowing is pleased to announce the 60-person roster of the 2022 Under 19 National Team and the 71-person roster of the 2022 Under 23 National Team that will represent the U.S. in Varese, Italy, later this month.

The 2022 World Rowing Under 19 Championships will be held July 27-31 in Varese. The U.S. will have crews competing in all 14 events including the men's and women's single sculls, double sculls, quadruple sculls, pair, four, four with coxswain, and eight.

The 2022 World Rowing Under 23 Championships will be held July 25-30 in Varese. The regatta will offer 22 boat classes including the men's and women's single sculls, lightweight single sculls, double sculls, lightweight double sculls, quadruple sculls, lightweight quadruple sculls, pair, lightweight pair, four, four with coxswain, and eight. The U.S. has entries in 21 of the 22 events. The lone event without a U.S. entry is the men's four.

At the 2021 World Rowing Under 19 Championships held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, the U.S. won medals in four events including gold in the women's four with coxswain, men's eight, and women's eight and bronze in the men's single sculls. At the 2021 World Rowing Under 23 Championships held in Racice, Czech Republic, the U.S. won medals in seven events including gold in the women's eight, silver in the women's pair, women's four, and men's eight, and bronze in the lightweight women's pair, lightweight women's quadruple sculls, and men's four with coxswain. Eighteen athletes return from the 2021 U19 squad, while 20 return from the 2021 U23 team.

The U19 roster includes athletes from 19 states, plus the District of Columbia, Spain, and England. California leads the way with 17 athletes on the U19 roster, while Connecticut has six.

The U23 roster includes athletes from 21 states and Germany. California and New York lead the way with nine athletes each. Twenty-four colleges and universities are represented on the roster, with Princeton University leading the way with nine team members and the University of Texas having eight.

USRowing would like to thank Filippi Lido, the Official Boat Supplier for the U.S. Senior, Under 23, and Para-Rowing National Teams. Under the agreement, Filippi is providing USRowing a fleet of boats for international competitions including the World Rowing Cup regattas, World Rowing Under 23 Championships, World Rowing Championships, Olympic Games, and Paralympic Games, as well as a domestic training fleet for the USRowing Training Center.
