Personal
Kate was born on 11/24/2000. She enjoys cycling, baking, and napping. She was a figure skater for 14 years before starting rowing. Kate has a twin brother. Her dad, Chris Maietta, was involved in starting Wayland-Weston Rowing Association, and her older sister, Sarah, rowed for WWRA before her. She lists her mother, Barbara Maietta, as her personal hero because she is the perfect role model - persistent, hard working, intelligent. She has always supported Kate in every way possible, and Kate wouldnt be where she is without her. Kate's older sister, Sarah, was on the U23 team in the lightweight pair in 2018 and 2019 and won gold and silver, respectively.
