Personal

Cillian was named an Illinois State Scholar in 2022, editor's choice in the short story category at the 2022 Dukane Conference Literary Festival, and Most Promising Novice for the Chicago Rowing Foundation in 2020. Cillian enjoys writing, learning more about fungal ecosystems, mushroom hunting, hiking, and listening to Pod Save the World, NIN, or the g-force soundtrack. Before joining rowing, Cillian played volleyball and ultimate frisbee. Cillian also has a dog named Filippi and loves making bagels out of Greek yogurt. Cillians mom rowed for Purdue University and noticed an advertisement for a local club in St. Charles and thought Cillian should give it a shot. Cillian lists one of his personal heros at Angel Joy Flores because she is a fellow trans athlete who keeps a positive but realistic attitude about playing sports as a trans athlete and is someone Cillian strives to be like for generations of trans athletes to come.
