Azja was named USRowings co-Under 23 Female Athlete of the Year in 2022. She was named PAC-12 Rower of the Year in 2022 and CRCA Scholar Athlete in 2020, 2021, and 2022. She enjoys running, hiking, camping, and crocheting. After breaking her collarbone in 2019, she retired from skateboarding and turned her energy to the berg. Now she has a few unofficial berg records and set off metal detectors. She also participated in the Ulman Foundations 2021 4k for Cancer running relay across America. Azjas dad rowed at the United States Naval Academy and her mom rowed at Georgetown University. They both encouraged her to start rowing after she started to burn out of high school swimming. She names her parents as her personal heroes because they are both public high school district employees and work really hard to give her sister and her every opportunity possible. Azja said it is cool that rowing brought them together, and she wants to go as far as possible with what they have given her.
