Personal
Outside of rowing, Alie likes racing the 50km American Birkebeiner with her family. Alie and her were bow pair in the Stanford varsity eight in 2016, and her brother will be joining her for training this fall now that he has wrapped up his time in the Yale varsity eight. Alie said her family always had Olympic rowing paraphernalia around the house growing up from her parents, so she knew it was something she would try once she had the opportunity. She went to St. Paul's School her sophomore year of high school and joined the rowing team that spring. She wants to be a doctor after she finishes her rowing career and currently works in clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital. Alie is in a book club with her mom, sister, and cousin. They switch between fiction and non-fiction every month, so she has recommendations for everyone.
