Lale Edil

Lale was a member of the 2023 All-Big 12 Team and received the 2023 Oarswoman Award. She also received the 2022 Athletics Service Award, was a 2022 Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree, made the 2021 Academic All-Rookie Team, and was on the 2021 All-Big 12 Rookie Team. She has been on the Deans Honor Roll for the College of Arts and Sciences and President's Honor Roll since 2020. Lale enjoys cooking, scuba diving, reading, long walks with friends, and discovering coffee shops. She loves to meet new people and travel, especially to the beach or anywhere with a large body of water. Her name means tulip in Turkish. Lale began rowing her junior year of high school after she moved with her family to Oklahoma City. Her parents both rowed at the University of Wisconsin, and they encouraged Lale to try the sport. After rowing, Lale would like to help people internationally. Her favorite books are Finding Chika, The Secret Life of Bees, and The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. Her family includes her mother and father, Jessica and Barish, and siblings Barish Jr., Esme, and Ayla.
