Personal
Sammy enjoys baseball. He was the 2018 MVP and junior team captain at Montgomery Boat Club, 2019 MVP and team captain at Annapolis Junior Rowing, and 2020 MVP and team captain at Thompson Boat Center. Sammy was injured while riding his bike and couldn't run cross-country his freshman fall, so he joined a local rowing club. One of his rowing heroes is Rert Zimonyi. In the 1940s and 1950s, he was Hungary's best coxswain, racing in the eight, coxed four and coxed pair at two Olympics. After the Hungarian Revolution, he managed to defect to America, joined Vesper, qualified for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and led team USA to gold. "If that man's life doesn't inspire you, I'm not sure what will."
