Matt Lexa

Matt enjoys spending time outdoors, spending time with his family and friends, and working out. He has a pet pot bellied pig named Pyper. His grandfather rowed for the University of Washington and his older brother started rowing in middle school. He gave it a try and he really liked the competitive atmosphere of the sport. His heroes are his mother and father. They have always pushed him to be the best possible person he could be in every aspect of his life and are always there for him whenever he needs their support or advice. Matt will have to serve his military commitment after graduation, but then he would like to coach rowing at the collegiate level or own a fishing charter. His favorite artists are Tate McRae and Fred Again. He loves any Star Wars movie. Matt was named to the 2024 Empacher-IRCA All-America Second Team Honors and the 2024 Empacher-IRCA All-America Second Team. He holds Lower Merion's 2k erg record. Son of Frank and Tanya, both parents were college athletes, while attending Harvard as his father swam and his mother swam and competed on the water polo team
