Masters Coaching Certification Course
Masters athletes are not a uniform group; coaches and administrators need to adapt and become more flexible to give them a good rowing experience. Aging athletes present a very different challenge for the coach both in terms of physiology, and biomechanics, and masters' ability to train regularly is affected by their life and work responsibilities. Few coaches know how long a workout their masters athletes "should" be able to do. This course aims to give coaches the skills necessary to adapt to all types of masters athletes and the unique challenges this group represents.
Course Objectives
The overall theme for the course will focus on how coaching masters may be different and what the coach should consider when instructing athletes from these groups in your program.
· Rowers returning to the sport in later years (who may also race)
· New adult rowers
· Rowers who compete
· Fitness rowers
· Coastal rowers
