The Impact

With over 75,000 individuals and 1400 organizations, we strive to influence all USRowing members to make their rowing programs a place for all. We will track membership demographics, retention, and experience and plan to report progress to members annually starting in 2025.

From 2024 through 2028, these are the following goals for the United We Row programs:

  • $1 million in grants and scholarships over 4 years through the United We Row Impact Program
  • Over the next two years, 60 United We Row mentorship program participants gain practical skills and community
  • USRowing membership better reflects the racial and ethnic demographics of the United States over 4 years

Check out a few highlights from United We Row in 2024, as a combination of programs, initiatives, and campaigns:

  • Scholarships – To better ensure equitable access to camps, United We Row provided $200,000 to athletes at all of USRowing’s Olympic and Paralympic Development Camps and Selection Camps and to coaches for continuing education such as conferences, clinics, USRowing certifications, and ride-along.
  • Grants – Elevating great work in the rowing community among a diverse representation of organizations, we've provided $70,000 to clubs that are increasing representation in rowing.
  • Events – Building community is critical to the success of our sport and we've had hundreds of attendees over multiple events this year to connect.

2024 Inaugural Grantees

“Your contributions and financial support are playing a pivotal role in opening the doors of this sport to young girls of color and underrepresented minorities. This effort not only enriches the diversity within the sport but also empowers these young athletes by providing them with opportunities to excel and redefine their potential. My family is forever grateful!” -- Parent of United We Row Scholarship recipient for USRowing Camp
