National Learn to Row Day is an annual day (first Saturday of June) where clubs are encouraged to host learn to row opportunities in their community. Participants will learn the basics of rowing terminology, technique, equipment, benefits of the sport, and connect with other rowers.
Find a club near you to discover Learn to Row opportunities! Many teams participate in National Learn to Row Day as well as other Learn to Row programs throughout the year.
Whether you’re a beginner or just curious about the sport. Anyone interested in trying rowing, regardless of experience or fitness level, is welcome to participate. Reach out to your local club if you have specific questions regarding your participation.
Learn to Row looks a little different at each club, but overall, you’ll learn the basics of rowing, the benefits of the sport, and get connected with the athletes in your community.
Yes, be sure individual participants sign a USRowing paper waiver to keep on file at your organization.
Individual participants must sign a USRowing paper waiver to keep on file at your organization.
USRowing offers a $10 "Learn to Row" Membership for first-time members. This 60-day membership gives individuals the opportunity to try the sport or take part in long-term Learn to Row programs before committing to a full-year membership. (This membership is not required for NLTR Day, but a good option for those looking to try a LTR program that is longer than 3 days)
Think of LTR Day as an opportunity to meet new rowers and grow the sport! Have flyers/documents ready to hand out promoting your programs, benefits, costs, etc. Encourage your experienced rowers to connect and answer questions with LTR participants.
