Letter From Our CEO - January 2026
Dear USRowing Members,
For everyone doing grueling indoor workouts, pushing through cold winter days, just remember that spring always comes. The water thaws, and we are all reminded of why we do this sport. Still, winter can be hard, and we at USRowing see the work you are putting in.
I am happy to share that the team here at USRowing is working hard behind the scenes to ensure we are doing the best we can by you, our members. That means continuing to improve our systems and structure so we can better serve everyone in our community, from people taking their very first strokes to our national team athletes who will start Selection Camp I on Sunday.
Recently, this work has included a new Member Benefit Center for individual and organizational members, providing both with access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. In tandem, we’re offering opportunities for athletes seeking Para rowing classification and competition as we expand access to Para and adaptive rowing at all levels, and recently launched a Return to Rowing program that will kick off in May.
So please keep at it, and so will we. Keep erging, lifting, getting stronger, and being good teammates to one another this winter.
One of the many things I love about rowing is that every single stroke gives you the opportunity to get just a little bit better. A little more connected to the rower in front of you, a little sharper with your blade work, breathing a little better. We are working to do the same here, striving to be just a little bit better every day in our effort to support this sport we all love.
Here’s to a great 2026 together as a rowing community. Thank you to the rowers, coxswains, coaches, club directors, parents of rowers, referees, and volunteers who make rowing in the United States so special.
Warmly,
Amanda
