Return to Rowing Day: Welcome Back to the Boathouse

USRowing is excited to invite rowing organizations across the country to take part in the first-ever Return to Rowing Day, a new initiative launching in May 2026. On any Saturday in May that works best for your club, boathouses nationwide will open their doors to welcome former rowers back to the sport, whether they last rowed a few years ago or a few decades ago.

Return to Rowing Day is designed to be fun, flexible, and low-pressure, allowing clubs to reconnect with alumni, masters rowers, community members, and those interested in getting back on the water. Participating organizations can host on-the-water sessions, social gatherings, and casual re-engagement activities, all tailored to their facilities, membership, and local conditions.

To support participating clubs, USRowing will provide a promotional toolkit, including social media language and suggested programming ideas for clubs of varying sizes. All registered organizations will also be featured on USRowing.org in a list of participating clubs, helping former rowers easily find an event near them and reinforcing the collective impact of this effort.

Clubs are encouraged to choose the Saturday in May that works best for them, factoring in local weather and schedules. Registration is now open, and we hope you’ll join us in bringing former rowers back to the boathouse and back into the rowing community. Register your organization here
