USRowing Opens Nominations for Select Youth Coaches Councils
Beginning September 3, USRowing will open nominations for the next term of its existing Youth Coaches Councils in select regions. Originally established in 2020, these councils have provided valuable guidance and feedback to help strengthen USRowing-owned regattas and improve the experience for coaches, athletes, and clubs.
The Coaches Councils serve as a liaison between the rowing community and USRowing, helping ensure the perspectives of coaches, athletes, and clubs are represented in decisions related to policies, programs, and regatta operations. Council members may review entry packets, provide feedback on competition guidelines, and advise Regatta Directors on matters that impact the event and participant experience.
As USRowing moves to a more formalized council structure, we thank the coaches who have served since 2020 for their contributions and the meaningful impact they have made on our regattas.
Council Roles Open for Nomination
Youth Coaches Councils
- Southeast
- Northeast
- Mid-Atlantic
These select regional councils are included in the 2026–2028 nomination process because they are transitioning to the new formalized Coaches Council structure and do not currently have established charter structures in place. The formalized structure will provide each council with a consistent framework to better support its region.
Nomination Timeline
The nomination period runs for three weeks, closing on September 24. The inaugural council terms cover the 2027 and 2028 regatta seasons. Members serve two-year terms with the opportunity to seek re-nomination at the conclusion of each term.
